Highlights • Circ_0008777 is upregulated in HNSCC and correlates with poor prognosis.• Circ_0008777 binds PC4 to enhance c-Myc transcription in HNSCC cells.• Circ_0008777 acts as a sponge for miR-185–3p, relieving c-Myc repression.• Circ_0008777 promotes HNSCC progression via c-Myc upregulation in vitro and in vivo.• Targeting circ_0008777 may offer a novel therapeutic strategy for HNSCC.
