Q-VD-OPh是一种有效的、广谱Caspase抑制剂，作用于caspases 1 (IC50=50nM)、3 ( IC50=25nm)、8 (IC50=100nM)和9 (IC50=430nM)。Q-VD-OPh有效抑制细胞凋亡，毒性小于Z-VAD-FMK和BOC-D-FMK，并显著抑制中性粒细胞凋亡。通过广泛抑制caspases，Q-VD-OPh促进白血病原细胞分化。Q-VD-OPh 在体内实验中，Q-VD-OPh阻止缺血再灌注损伤诱导的细胞凋亡。
本品为溶于DMSO的储存液，浓度为20 mM。

（一）细胞实验（体外研究）
为检测Q-VD-OPh的作用，用Q-VD-OPh孵育中性粒细胞20 h，从10 nM开始，Q-VD-OPh显著降低中性粒细胞凋亡。[4]
（二）动物实验（体内研究）
体内实验中，给大鼠注射Q-VD-OPh（1mg/kg, i.p.），细胞死亡减少，引起显著的神经保护作用。[2]
