Adducins are a family of cytoskeletal proteins encoded by three genes (alpha, beta, and gamma). Adducin acts as a heterodimer of the related alpha, beta, or gamma subunits. The protein encoded by this gene represents the alpha subunit. Alpha- and beta-adducin include a protease-resistant N-terminal region and a protease-sensitive, hydrophilic C-terminal region. Adducin binds with high affinity to Ca(2+)/calmodulin and is a substrate for protein kinases A and C.

Western blotting analysis using adducin 1 antibody . Total cell lysates (30 μg) from various cell lines were loaded and separated by SDS-PAGE. The blot was incubated with adducin 1 antibody and HRP-conjugated goat anti-mouse secondary antibody respectively. Image was developed using FeQ™ ECL Substrate Kit .

Validation of Adducin 1 knockdown using flow cytometry. Wild-type(WT, Blue) and knockdown(KD, Green) HT-1080 cells were stained with Adducin 1 antibody and analyzed using BD flow cytometer.

Immunohistochemistry was performed on paraffin-embedded human ovarian carcinoma using adducin 1 antibody . Antigen retrieval was done in sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). DAB was used for detection, with hematoxylin counterstaining. Images were acquired using a Nikon Ci-L Plus microscope (40× objective). Scale bar, 25 μm.
