This gene encodes a member of the enigma protein family. The protein contains two protein interacting domains, a PDZ domain at the amino terminal end and one to three LIM domains at the carboxyl terminal. It is a cytoplasmic protein associated with the cytoskeleton. The protein may function as an adapter to bring other LIM-interacting proteins to the cytoskeleton. Pseudogenes associated with this gene are located on chromosomes 3, 14 and 17.

Western blotting analysis using PDLIM1 antibody . Total cell lysates (20 μg) from various cell lines were loaded and separated by SDS-PAGE. The blot was incubated with PDLIM1 antibody and HRP-conjugated goat anti-rabbit secondary antibody respectively. Image was developed using NaQ™ ECL Substrate Kit .

Western blotting analysis using PDLIM1 antibody (Cat #64976). PDLIM1 expression in wild-type (WT) and PDLIM1 shRNA knockdown (KD) HeLa cells with 20 μg of total cell lysates. Hsp90 α serves as a loading control. The blot was incubated with PDLIM1 antibody (Cat #64976, 1:2,500) and HRP-conjugated goat anti-rabbit secondary antibody (Cat #201, 1:20,000) respectively. Image was developed using NaQ™ ECL Substrate Kit (Cat #716).
