DBC1 (also known as CCAR2 or KIAA1967) is an important epigenetic regulatory protein and tumor suppressor, initially discovered due to its high-frequency deletion in breast cancer. It is involved in cellular senescence, metabolism, DNA repair, and tumorigenesis by regulating the activities of deacetylases (such as SIRT1) and transcription factors (such as p53).
