Abstract
Abstract The target of rapamycin (TOR) signalling network plays a pivotal role in sugar metabolism and plants growth. In this article, we made use of the grape ( Vitis vinifera ) calli as experiment materials to explore the function of VvTOR gene and protein. By dual-luciferase reporter system, We found that VvTOR promoter could respond to ABA (Abscisic Acid) signal and VvTOR 1200 bp promoter fragment had stronger activity. By the treatment of AZD8055, an inhibitor of VvTOR, the sugars (glucose, sucrose, fructose) contents of grape calli had different changes and the growth of grape calli could be repressed. We further found that VvTOR could affect grape growth and sugar metabolism genes expression under the different treatments of ABA and AZD8055. These results provide a new evidence to support the viewpoint that VvTOR could respond to ABA signal and affect sugar related genes expression in grapes.
