肿瘤坏死因子α（TNF-α）是一种有效的促炎细胞因子，可以杀死和抑制肿瘤细胞。它主要由活化的巨噬细胞产生，也可由其他类型的细胞分泌，如CD4+淋巴细胞、NK细胞、中性粒细胞、肥大细胞、嗜酸性粒细胞和神经元组织。TNFα家族的成员通过TNF受体家族的两种不同表面受体TNFR1和TNFR2发挥其细胞作用。TNF的多效性生物学效应可归因于其同时激活细胞中多种信号通路的能力。TNF诱导的NF-κB活化促进癌症细胞的生长、侵袭和转移。
