The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the protein kinase C family of serine- and threonine-specific protein kinases. The encoded protein is activated by diacylglycerol and is both a tumor suppressor and a positive regulator of cell cycle progression. Also, this protein can positively or negatively regulate apoptosis. Defects in this gene are a cause of autoimmune lymphoproliferative syndrome.

Flow cytometric analysis of PKC delta expression in HAP-1 cells using PKC delta antibody . Green, isotype control; red,PKC delta.

Validation of PKC delta knockdown using flow cytometry. Wild-type(WT, Blue) and knockdown(KD, Green) HeLa cells were stained with PKC delta antibody and analyzed using BD flow cytometer.

Immunohistochemistry was performed on paraffin-embedded human breast carcinoma using PKC delta antibody . Antigen retrieval was done in sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). DAB was used for detection, with hematoxylin counterstaining. Images were acquired using a Nikon Ci-L Plus microscope (40× objective). Scale bar, 25 μm.
